epub-utils software package provides tools to work with the EPUB file format, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install epub-utils
epub-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the epub-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep epub-utils *
You will get with epub-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
